On Friday, June 21, 2002 at 10:00am and in front of a great many distinguished guests and supporters, Dell Curry of the NBA's Toronto Raptors and his youth charity, the Dell Curry Foundation, opened and dedicated its third Dell Curry Youth After-School Educational Computer Learning Center in the Enderly Park community of Charlotte-Mecklenburg.

Dell's third Youth Educational Computer Learning Center is housed within an auxiliary facility donated by and adjacent to, Mount Carmel Baptist Church which currently supports the Above and Beyond Students, Inc. program. The facility/program is located at 3201 Tuckaseegee Road, Charlotte, NC 28208.

The Dell Curry Foundation has agreed to partner with the Above & Beyond Students program and provide them support via the opening of this educational computer learning center, for the purpose of providing after-school and summer camp educational assistance to youth both housed within and outside of this community, that are in need of structured educational/computer and tutorial programmatic development.

"Today was another great day for the Dell Curry Foundation," stated Curry. I want to thank all of our sponsors and supporters, both past and present for their involvement towards helping to make today possible. Being able to give back to this community is one thing, however, seeing the smiles, excitement and hope in the eyes of those kids faces is really what all of this is about. Our goal is to open 12 Youth After-School Educational Computer Learning Centers, and after seeing what took place today, I very much look forward to doing this nine more times."

The first Youth After-School Educational Computer Learning Center opened Sept. 29, 2000 in the "Belvedere Homes" community and located in the Salvation Army-West Trade Street Boys & Girls Club, 2600 West Trade Street, Charlotte, NC 28208. The second center opened March 21, 2001 in the "Hidden Valley" community and located in the Precious Ones Daycare & After-School Academy, 4651 Munsee Street, Charlotte, NC 28213. Plans are currently underway for the opening of a fourth Dell Curry Youth After-School Educational Computer Learning Center for Sept. 10, 2002.
