NBA Fan Voice Community Rules

Welcome to NBA Fan Voice! NBA Fan Voice consists of "Game Dates" and "Feature Forums". "The Game Dates" forums are where NBA fans like you can discuss current NBA games with other NBA fans. The message boards for the Game Dates forums are generally open from the start of the first game every day until 3 pm ET the following day throughout the NBA season. The Feature Forums provide the opportunity for fans of NBA Basketball to interact with each other and discuss various subjects of interest. The message boards for the Feature Forums are open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The NBA Video Highlights Mixer is where fans can create their own highlights package and set the highlights mix to music. NBA Fan Voice also has a private messaging feature. You may engage in private messaging with another member of Fan Voice, provided that she/he agrees to accept the option to chat with you. Members also have the ability to block those with whom they do not wish to chat. We feel this feature will enhance your NBA Voice experience.

NBA Fan Voice is designed for you to have fun by engaging in dynamic, knowledgeable discussions about basketball. To ensure that NBA Fan Voice is a positive experience for everyone, we expect you to respect other members at all times and abide by the rules set forth below. While we encourage you to express your views and opinions, if you violate any of the rules listed below or post information, names or comments that the NBA decides (in its sole discretion) is inappropriate for NBA Fan Voice, we reserve the right to remove your post(s), name(s), or other content, and/or to revoke your privileges to participate in the forums. Although we may attempt to notify you if we remove content you have posted, we are under no obligation to do so. We also reserve the right to take down any post or content for any reason. If we remove a certain post, all other messages in the string that follow that post also will be removed. All information posted will be available to the public, thus, you should be careful not to post any personal information or the personal information of others (such as last name, street address, email address, place of employment, relatives). Please remember that you remain fully responsible for all content that you post, even if your submission complies with these guidelines and after it is included and remains posted on NBA Fan Voice. We reserve all rights to seek appropriate relief against users who violate these rules, the NBA.com Network Terms of Use or any applicable law, regulation or standard, through their use of NBA Fan Voice. Do not post content that demeans, marginalizes, is abusive, harassing or personally attacks others, including, but not limited to, content that intimidates or behavior that constitutes sexual requests or advances, or physical threats.


• No derogatory content or hate speech

Do not post content that depicts another person's race, gender, ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation, or other status in a patently derogatory manner.


• No use of profanity, obscenities or other inappropriate content

Do not post any profane, vulgar, sexually explicit, or indecent language or images, including text, video, pictures, audio, or other dynamic media.


• No content that violates any laws, unauthorized copyrighted material, advocate illegal activity, etc.

Do not post anything that violates any law, advocates illegal activity, or infringes upon the intellectual property or other right of any entity or person. Do not post statements that are libelous or otherwise defamatory. You may only post original content authored by you, and not copyrighted materials owned or created by others. You may link to content of others so long as they do not otherwise violate these rules.


• No off-topic content or false information

Do not post content that does not pertain to the NBA game or information that is false or misleading.


• No impersonation of others

Do not impersonate any person or entity or misrepresent your identity or your affiliation to any person or entity.


• No personal information

Personal information includes but is not limited to real name, street address, place of employment, relatives, or other information not contained in the member's Fan Voice profile. In addition, avoid posting your own PI, just to play it safe.


• No advertising or solicitation of goods or services

Do not use NBA Fan Voice to engage in commercial activities, including but not limited to advertising, promoting or soliciting funds for goods or services.


• No multiple messages or other disruptive posting or activity

Do not disrupt these forums by posting the same message multiple times. Do not post chain letters. Do not post messages that contain viruses, worms, or other harmful components.


• No objectionable links

Do not post any links to, or URLs for, any content or web pages that violate any of the NBA Fan Voice Community Rules.

Moderator Note: Any attempts at hacking, disrupting or destroying the forum or circumventing a suspension or expulsion may result in the immediate termination of that member's right to participate in NBA Fan Voice.
