Steve Stricker brings over a decade of experience to the athletic trainer position. Stricker came to the Wizards in 2001 after two years at the University of Michigan. He started out as the assistant athletic trainer for the Wolverines, and in September 2000 was named the associate supervisor of athletic medicine. As the head athletic trainer and associate supervisor, his duties focused primarily on injury prevention, care and rehabilitation.

In addition to his experience with the Wolverines, Stricker also served as the head athletic trainer at the University of Texas at Arlington from July 1993 to September 1995.

Stricker began his career at Iowa State University, where he earned his Bachelor of Science in 1985 and Master of Science in 1991. While there, he served as a student trainer and assistant athletic trainer.
