Mitchell Anderson returned to the Grizzlies as an assistant coach on Dec. 2, 2004 when Mike Fratello took over as head coach. It’s his second stint as an assistant coach with the Grizzlies, a role he previously held for two full seasons (2000-02) under former head coach Sidney Lowe. When Hubie Brown was named head coach in 2003, he remained with the organization as a scout, serving in that role for the previous two seasons.

Prior to joining the Grizzlies in 2000, he worked with an Upper Deck tour team as an assistant coach and player. Prior to that, he served as a player/coach in Hamburg, Germany for one season (1998-99).

An 11-year international veteran of the European leagues, Anderson’s NBA playing experience includes three seasons with the Utah Jazz (1982-85) and the Philadelphia 76ers for a half of a season.
