Mike O'Koren is in his first season as associate head coach of the Philadelphia 76ers after having served the past six seasons on Eddie Jordanís staff in Washington.

The Wizards made the playoffs in four of O'Korenís five full seasons after doing so once the 16 years prior. Gilbert Arenas, Caron Butler and Antawn Jamison all made their first All-Star appearance during O'Korenís time in Washington.

The former North Carolina All-American joined the Wizards after serving as an assistant coach alongside Jordan in New Jersey from 1999-2003. The Nets won back-to-back Atlantic Division and Eastern Conference Championships in 2002 and 2003.

After a standout college career at UNC, where he was a three-time All-American and a four-year starter for legendary coach Dean Smith, O'Koren was drafted by the Nets with the sixth overall pick in the 1980 NBA Draft. He averaged 8.5 points, 3.4 rebounds and 2.1 assists over seven NBA seasons.

O'Koren and his wife Angela have a daughter, Chelsea.
