Assistant Coach For Player Development

Kris Weems has spent the better part of the last 15 years immersed in the Bay Area basketball scene, beginning with a successful playing career at Stanford University and, most recently, as the head varsity basketball coach at Menlo School in Atherton, California. As a collegiate, Weems played four seasons for the Cardinal from 1996-99, helping the team to four-straight NCAA Tournament appearances and a trip to the 1998 Final Four during his junior season, a year in which he also earned All Pac-10 First Team honors. After graduating with a degree in sociology in 1999, the Kansas City, Kansas, native played one season professionally with Hapoel-Tel Aviv in Israel before returning to the Bay Area to work for Stanfordís basketball program and athletic department for six years. In seven seasons as the head coach at Menlo School (2004-2011), Weems led his teams to seven Central Coast Section postseason appearances, five league championships and three appearances in the Northern California bracket of the CIF State Championships. For the past two seasons, he has also served as a college basketball analyst for Comcast SportsNet Bay Area, providing color commentary for Pac-10 and West Coast Conference telecasts.
