Head Athletic Trainer

Chad Bergman enters his second season as the head athletic trainer of the Golden State Warriors in 2012-13. In this role, he is responsible for the day-to-day health of the team, including the evaluation and treatment of injuries.

Prior to joining the Warriors, Bergman spent the last six seasons with the San Antonio Spurs as the teamís assistant athletic trainer. A certified member of the National Athletic Trainers Association, National Basketball Athletic Trainers Association, NASMPES, and NASM- CES, he originally joined the Spurs in 2003 as the teamís equipment manager before being promoted to assistant athletic trainer.

Prior to joining the Spurs, Bergman served as the athletic trainer for the Fayetteville Patriots of the NBA Development League in 2001. While working in the D-League, he also traveled to Asia and South America as the athletic trainer of the leagueís touring team. Additionally, he spent one season as the athletic trainer of the Baltimore Bay Runners in the IBL.

An Indianapolis native, Bergman graduated from IUPUI in 2000 with a degree in exercise science. His introduction to the NBA came as a ball boy for the Indiana Pacers, a position he held for 13 seasons, and worked alongside long time Pacers athletic trainer David Craig.
