LOS ANGELES–About seven minutes into Friday night’s intra-city matchup with the host Lakers, the Clippers grabbed a nine-point lead. And while the game was far from decided at the point, the lead never changed hands again.

The Clippers rode a hot-shooting first half from Caron Butler, eight-point fourth quarter from Jamal Crawford and another transcendent performance from Chris Paul to a 105-95 victory over their co-tenants at Staples Center.

PLAYA VISTA–It was not just that the Clippers scored 47 bench points in the team’s nine-point win over the Memphis Grizzlies on opening night. Or that one of them, Jamal Crawford, scored 29, including 12 in the fourth quarter. Or that five reserves combined to make 17 of their 27 shots.

It was that the Clippers, assumed to have one of the league’s deepest reserve units, did it without Grant Hill (knee) or Matt Barnes (suspension) and with Willie Green still in the starting lineup as Chauncey Billups continues rehabilitating from February surgery on a torn left Achilles tendon.

The Clippers visited six locations in Los Angeles Monday afternoon as part of their 2012 Paint the Town – BIG IS HERE Caravan.

The caravan consisted of three buses, which departed from the team’s Playa Vista Training Center with players, coaches, members of the Clippers Spirit and season ticket holders aboard.

LOS ANGELES - His first official shot as a member of the Clippers was likely not what he had in mind, but everything that followed was near perfection for newcomer Jamal Crawford.

The lanky reserve guard, who was among the team’s most prized offseason acquisitions, missed a 3-pointer from the right wing shortly after entering the game at the 3:43 mark of the first quarter. He then proceeded to make seven of his next eight shots.
