PLAYA VISTA - Clippers guard Chauncey Billups knew he would be sore after playing 19 minutes Wednesday, his first in-game action in nearly 10 months. How sore?

“I felt like I got hit by a Mack truck,” Billups said. “I think it’s probably going to be like this for the first three or four weeks that I’m playing; similar to when guys go to training camp.”

Following is a statement from the Los Angeles Clippers concerning the team’s long time public address announcer David Courtney, who died in Los Angeles earlier Thursday:

“Today our organization lost a good friend. In his years as public address announcer for Clippers’ home games, David Courtney was a consummate professional who brought a unique passion and energy to every event. We are saddened by his passing, and we extend our deepest sympathies to his wife, Janet and the rest of his family. David will be missed by the many people whose lives he touched.”
