Clippers Tip Off 2004-05 At Home

    The Clippers will open the 2004-05 regular season versus the Seattle SuperSonics on Wednesday, November 3 at STAPLES Center at 7:30 p.m. The Clippers 2004-05 schedule features two long road trips, one eight-game swing from February 3-16 and a seven game trip from March 27 to April 6. Los Angeles will also have a seven-game homestand from November 28 to December 13. Under the new six division scheme, the Clippers will face four Western Conference teams only three times during a season. Los Angeles will play Dallas, Denver, Houston and Seattle three times during the 2004-05 season while facing the other 10 Western Conference teams four times. The Clippers will host Denver and Houston just once during the season while making only one trip to Dallas and Seattle. Los Angeles will continue to face each Eastern Conference team twice during the regular season.

    Los Angeles will open the season with five of their first seven contests on the road, including the Clippers only visits to Indiana, New York and Chicago. The NBA Champion Detroit Pistons will make their only visit to face the Clippers on November 8. The Clippers will face the Lakers for the first time in the 2004-05 season on November 17 as the visiting team and will close out the month by playing five of six games at home including their only meeting of the season at STAPLES with Yao Ming, Tracy McGrady and the Houston Rockets on November 20 as well as their only home game versus LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers on November 29. Kerry Kittles will face his former team, the New Jersey Nets, for the first time on Thanksgiving night, November 25, at STAPLES Center.

    The Clippers will play nine of their 13 games in December at STAPLES Center, including games versus Indiana (December 1), Minnesota (December 4) and the Lakers (December 11). The December home schedule also features the first ever meeting with the expansion Charlotte Bobcats on December 6 as well as a New Year’s Eve game versus San Antonio. The Clippers will face Minnesota, Houston, Memphis and Utah on the road in December.

    Los Angeles will play 17 games in the month of January, including a pair of games versus Sacramento, Dallas, Seattle and Portland. The Clippers will host Shaquille O’Neal and the Miami Heat for the only time in the regular season on January 14 and host the Lakers for the second and final time on January 26.

    The Clippers will play 10 of their 12 games in February on the road, including an eight-game road trip from February 3-16 that will include stops in Philadelphia, Toronto and Miami. The Clippers will be off from February 17-22 for NBA All-Star Weekend 2005 in Denver. Los Angeles will play their ninth consecutive road game on February 23 at Phoenix before returning home to face Minnesota on February 24.

    The month of March features 15 games, nine of which the Clippers will play at home featuring games versus Dallas, Denver and Sacramento. Los Angeles will face a tough road schedule in March with games at the Lakers, Sacramento, Denver, Minnesota and Cleveland.

    Of the 10 games scheduled in April, only three are at home with road stops scheduled in Detroit, San Antonio and Houston. The Clippers will play their final regular season game at STAPLES Center on Saturday, April 16 versus New Orleans and will close out the 2004-05 season at New Orleans on Wednesday, April 20.
