Score: LAC 107 - ORL 93

ORLANDO – Head coach Doc Rivers didn’t like the abnormal minuses next to the starters’ names in recent matchups.

On Friday, things returned to normal.

The Clippers’ starters led the way and received some late help from Lance Stephenson, never trailing all night and cruising to a 107-93 victory against the Magic.

Every time Orlando went on a run, the Clippers answered back. The Magic cut the Clippers’ lead to two with seconds remaining in the third quarter, but it was as close as they’d get in the second half, as the Stephenson takeover then began.

Stephenson hit a buzzer beater to end the third quarter, then proceeded to score the Clippers’ first seven points of the fourth quarter, finishing the night 6-for-6 from the field with 13 points and three assists. He received late minutes with the starters, who looked like themselves again.

Chris Paul was plus-24 on the night and had 21 points and six assists. J.J. Redick and Jamal Crawford had 20 points apiece, giving Crawford his third straight game with at least 20 points. DeAndre Jordan had 12 points, 18 rebounds and three blocks.

Despite an uncharacteristic 14 turnovers in the first half, their most in a half this season, and 22 turnovers on the night, the Clippers still led by 11 at halftime and by as many as 16 points in the second quarter, shooting 58.8 percent from the floor at the time.

The victory didn’t go without some casualties, though. Austin Rivers (hand contusion) didn’t play, and Pablo Prigioni left the game late in the third quarter with a facial contusion.
