“Zeljko gives us size, toughness and depth in the middle” said Clippers Vice President of Basketball Operations Elgin Baylor. “He has low post skills and is a good mid-range shooter who played in a great defensive system with the Detroit Pistons.”
Rebraca joins the Clippers after beginning his NBA career with Detroit, where he played for two plus seasons before being traded on February 19, 2004 to Atlanta in a package for Rasheed Wallace.
Originally drafted by Seattle in the second round (54th overall) in the 1994 NBA Draft, Rebraca had his rights traded to Minnesota and Toronto before being acquired by Detroit on July 18th, 2001. Rebraca played professionally in Europe for 11 years prior to joining the Pistons, and was named the 1999 Most Valuable Player of Europe in FIBA competition. He had his most productive NBA season in 2001-02, when he averaged 6.9 points and 3.9 rebounds in helping the Pistons to a playoff berth.
Rebraca will wear jersey number 11 for the Clippers.
