On competing for the point guard position...
"I know what's going on with the point guard situation. It's a competition, but that's what you want. You don't want anybody to just give it (the position) to you. I'm trying to make a name for myself and learn as much as I can. The NBA game is very different from the college game, so I'm taking a lot in and trying to learn as much as possible."
On being a little unknown despite leading the nation in assists for two college seasons...
"I think I've made a name for myself (at Pre-Draft Camp) in Orlando and by getting drafted. I still have a lot of work to do and a lot of people I have to prove myself to. Leading the nation in assists helped me, but that's in the past."
On playing in the Pre-Draft Camp...
"My mindset going into that was I knew I had to play well and show I can play against the top competition. I needed to show I could run the team. I know I can pass the basketball and the athletes on my team made my job easier. The Pre-Draft Camp helped me a lot."
On who he models his game after...
"My game is pattered after Steve Nash. I try to do what he does, like pass the ball, and I have to run a lot like he does and keep players off-balance. Some of the tricks he has I still have to pick up, but I try to pattern my game after him as much as possible."
On being a late second round pick...
"A lot of players go under the radar. I've been under the radar for a lot of my life, like I was out of high school. Hopefully I'll have a great career in the NBA."
On his impressions of Los Angeles...
"I don't know too much about it, but people I know love it out here. It's my sister's favorite city and she said she wants to move here. From what I hear it's a great city, that the weather's perfect and I'm looking forward to living here."
