In addition, the Clippers exercised the club’s fourth year contract option on center Chris Kaman earlier this month.
Kaman, who was selected by the Clippers as the sixth overall pick in the 2003 NBA Draft, begins his third NBA season and is now signed through the 2006-07 campaign. Under the NBA’s Collective Bargaining Agreement, the Clippers had the right to exercise this contract option. Kaman will now become a restricted free agent following the 2006-07 season with the Clippers holding the right of first refusal.
In two seasons with the Clippers, Kaman has averaged 7.4 points, 6.1 rebounds and 24.0 minutes per game.
