GAME 6 VS. OKC: WHAT THEY’RE SAYING

Here is a glimpse at what was being talked about after the Clippers’ shootaround prior to Game 6 on Thursday:

Asked about if the team has gotten past their Game 5 loss in Oklahoma City…

Matt Barnes: “It still hurts, but there’s nothing you can do about it now. We know that we have a unique opportunity to take care of home court tonight and force a Game 7 and that’s what we’re focused on tonight.”

Asked on how the Clippers have embraced the notion that winning a championship is hard…

Matt Barnes: “I just feel like this is our destiny. And I think this is another bump in the road. This has been a crazy season. It’s been a fun season. There have been a lot of unfortunate events to start the Playoffs, but it’s building character and brought us closer. And it’s going to be a great story at the end.”

Asked about the league’s emphasis on protecting jump shooters…

Jamal Crawford: “You have to protect the shooter, obviously, because it doesn’t seem like a lot but if you shoot the ball and get touched on the elbow or touched on the wrist or whatever that can affect the shot. So, I get it.”

Asked what he expects in Game 6…

Jamal Crawford: “You’ve got to play with a sense of urgency. We’re not ready for the season to be over. We’re a team who’s played [the Thunder] [nine] times this year and we’ve basically split besides the last game. I think we know each other well and it’s going to be a good game tonight.”
