GAME 1: WHAT THEY’RE SAYING

Here is a glimpse at what was being talked about prior to the Clippers’ practice Friday in Playa Vista:

Asked if people overlook how good the Warriors are defensively…

Doc Rivers: ”I think because they’re such a great shooting team and they’re so high-octane people get lost in what they do. I think both teams are that way. We score a lot of points. But when you look at it both teams’ field goal percentage defense is very high. But that’s what happens in the West more because of the transition game that everyone has. I think they get lost in that. With us it’s the dunks and with them it’s the shooting and they forget that those are two really good defensive teams.”

Asked where any dislike between the Clippers and Warriors would stem from…

Blake Griffin: “We are going against each other. We are in each other’s way. I’ve said it over and over. We play against each other four times a year, now in the Playoffs. In between those times, we hear all of this. It’s natural. Anytime you have to talk about somebody more than you should you’re just going to get a little tired of it. I’m sure they’re tired of talking about us. I think we’re just ready to play.”

Asked if he will have any minutes restrictions in the Playoffs after being somewhat limited in the final five games since returning from his back injury…

J.J. Redick: “I haven’t really discussed that with Doc. Prior to the last game, in the first four games, my minutes were right around what I was averaging prior to that. If we look at it from need in the game, needing every win we can get, if he needs me, I’m available.”

Asked if there is a team he dislikes more than the Warriors…

Matt Barnes: “I really don’t like anybody, so…”
