DeGregorio joins the Clippers after a two-year stint as the Head Coach at the University of Rhode Island. Prior to assuming the head coaching duties, DeGregorio spent two seasons as an assistant coach at Rhode Island where he was a part of two of the most successful clubs in school history. During the two-year run (1997-99), the Rams posted a 45-22 record, went to the NCAA Tournament Final Eight for the first time in school history (1998) and won the school's first-ever Atlantic 10 Conference Championship (1999). Those teams featured Clippers co-captain Lamar Odom, Houston Rockets guard Cuttino Mobley and former Denver Nuggets guard Tyson Wheeler.
A graduate of St. John's (1988), DeGregorio got his first head-coaching opportunity at Mattatuck Community College (Con.), where he compiled a two-year record of 54-7 from 1990-92. From there, he moved on to St. Thomas Aquinas High School in New Britain, Con., where he served as Head Coach and Athletic Director. In four seasons at St. Thomas Aquinas, DeGregorio compiled a 65-29 record.
