CLIPPERS TO WEAR “BACK IN BLUE” ALTERNATE UNIFORM ON SUNDAY
For immediate release
The Los Angeles Clippers will wear their new “Back in Blue” short-sleeve alternate uniform for the first time in the regular season this Sunday, Nov. 24 when they take on the Chicago Bulls at STAPLES Center at 12:30 p.m. PT.
The uniforms will be worn for all Sunday games throughout the 2013-14 season. The “Back In Blue” uniforms made their debut on-court on October 19th during a preseason game against the Denver Nuggets in Las Vegas at the Mandalay Bay Events Center.
Designed by adidas, the uniforms are inspired by heritage of the Clippers organization and the Nautical culture of the Southern California area. The “Back in Blue” uniform features light blue color for the first time since the team was based in San Diego. Light blue has a rich history with the organization and has been a part of the team’s identity since they were the Buffalo Braves in the 1970’s. The lightweight woven shorts feature three iconic nautical flags to represent each of the team’s letters – L-A-C- to stand for Los Angeles Clippers.
The uniforms are part of the adidas and NBA Pride Uniform Collection, developed to give teams a unique uniform with rich details and colors indigenous to the team’s region or history. The Clippers will wear the uniforms a total of eight times this season. The jerseys are on sale at the Team LA store at STAPLES Center and www.clippersstore.com.
