Clippers Season of Giving – Feed the Community presented by 1-800LoanMart and MillerCoors

On Friday, December 7, 2012, The Clippers Foundation in a joint effort with Feed The Children, City of Los Angeles Department of Recreation and Parks, 1-800LoanMart and MillerCoors provided 1,200 families from various community-based organizations in Los Angeles with food and daily essentials. As a part of the Clippers and NBA Cares Season of Giving, Clippers players Chauncey Billups, Matt Barnes and Ronny Turiaf, along with Clippers staff, season ticket holders and employees from 1-800LoanMart and MillerCoors volunteered to distribute boxes of food and personal care items to families at Rancho Cienega Sports Complex in Los Angeles. Additionally, Frito-Lay, a division of PepsiCo, provided volunteers and product for the families and Jersey Mike’s Subs provided lunch for the event volunteers. In the spirit of the holiday season families also received toys and books for their children. The boxes of food and basic necessities are designed to help a family of four for up to one week.

The Los Angeles Clippers Foundation exists to foster and support community outreach programs and activities with positive educational, civic, environmental and humanitarian values that benefit and enhance the quality of life primarily for children in greater Los Angeles. To meet these commitments, the foundation will seek, accept and donate funds and in-kind items to support community outreach programs and initiatives of local children's charities and organizations.
