Brian Sieman Named Radio Play-By-Play Announcer

The Los Angeles Clippers today announced that Brian Sieman has been named the team’s new radio play-by-play announcer for the 2007-08 season on the team’s flagship station, ESPN 710 AM.

On the six Clippers’ non-televised games, the “Voice of the Clippers” Ralph Lawler and former Clipper Michael Smith will team up with Sieman to call the action on radio.

Sieman joins the Clippers after one season as the radio voice of the Minnesota Timberwolves in 2006-07. Sieman took over the Timberwolves play-by-play duties after calling games for the WNBA’s Minnesota Lynx from 2002-2007.

Prior to his time with the Timberwolves, Sieman spent the WNBA off-season working for 950 AM in Denver, Col., the flagship station of the Denver Nuggets. Sieman has experience working in all levels of professional basketball, as he has announced games in the Continental Basketball Association (CBA) and International Basketball Association (IBA). A 1998 graduate from the University of Kansas, Sieman also worked as the play-by-play announcer for Drake University in 2001.

All Clippers’ radio broadcasts, home and away, are available on ESPN 710 AM. As one of the five Owned and Operated ESPN radio stations run by the Walt Disney Company, 710 ESPN AM broadcasts a combination of local and ESPN Radio Network programming.

Sieman replaces Matt Pinto, who served as the team’s radio play-by-play voice for the past two seasons.
