CLIPPERS ANNOUNCE PARTNERSHIP WITH THE NATIONAL BASKETBALL ACADEMY
The Los Angeles Clippers today announced that they have expanded their year old partnership with The National Basketball Academy (TNBA), who coordinates the year round Clippers’ Youth Basketball Clinics and Camps.
The expanded relationship with TNBA will bring Clippers’ Youth Basketball Clinics and Camps to different locations throughout Southern California, culminating with a one-day clinic held at the state-of-the-art Los Angeles Clippers Training Center in Playa Vista on July 17th. Children taking part in the clinic on the 17th will have the opportunity to practice on the same courts that the Clippers train on.
TNBA’s primary goal is to teach children fundamental basketball skills, with an emphasis on detail and development, which help build the foundation for a long future playing basketball. Former professional basketball player Chris Acker directs the group which handles all aspects of basketball training. Acker also works with many professional and collegiate athletes to help strengthen their skills and conditioning during their respective offseasons.
In addition to the Clippers, TNBA currently works with seven other NBA franchises (Charlotte Bobcats, Cleveland Cavaliers, Houston Rockets, Minnesota Timberwolves, New Orleans Hornets, Oklahoma City Thunder and Orlando Magic).
