The Clippers signed guard Maurice Baker to a 10-day contract on Monday, February 21st. A call up from the Dakota Wizards of the CBA, Baker was a 2002 graduate of Oklahoma State University. In 30 games played with Dakota, Baker averaged 16.9 points, 6.7 assists and 5.4 rebounds per game. Baker was also a member of the Phoenix Suns Summer League team in 2002 and was subsequently invited to their training camp that season.
The Clippers also placed guard Shaun Livingston on the injured list with torn cartilage in his right shoulder. Livingston injured the shoulder in the Clippers’ contest against the Orlando Magic in Orlando on February 15th and is expected to be sidelined for three weeks. Livingston had missed 39 games while on the injured list with a dislocated right patella (kneecap) before being activated on February 12th.
In 13 games played this season, Livingston has averaged 5.5 points and 3.3 assists per game
