On Friday, January 31st, 2003, Gary Evans calmly took the STAPLES Center floor in front of 17,875 screaming fans. The Riverside, CA resident had just one shot from half court to win a brand new Mitsubishi Outlander compliments of Mitsubishi Motors. With the crowd cheering him on, he took two steps.....launched a high arching shot....and NAILED IT!
What happened next was a victory dance to end all victory dances. An exuberant Gary pumped his fists, high fived everyone in sight (including Clippers Center Sean Rooks), and ran a victory lap around the court as the arena went absolutely nuts. His clutch shot not only won him a new Mitsubishi, but also provided a memory that fans in attendence won't soon forget.
