Clippers Sign Recasner

The Los Angeles Clippers announced today that they have signed 6’4” free agent guard Eldridge Recasner. The Clippers also placed forward Harold Jamison on the injured list with a left shin contusion.

Recasner
Recasner is in his eighth NBA season and appeared in one game this year with the Charlotte Hornets before he was waived on November 19. For his career, Recasner has appeared in 291 NBA games, averaging 5.9 points and 1.8 assists per game. Prior to spending four seasons (1998-99 through 2000-01) in Charlotte, Recasner played two seasons (1996-97, 1997-98) with the Atlanta Hawks, where he established career highs in scoring (9.3 ppg) and rebounding (2.4 rpg) during the 1997-98 campaign. He played in a career-high 71 games with the Hawks in 1996-97 (2.4 rpg) and averaged 3.1 points in the postseason as the Hawks advanced to the second round of the 1997 NBA Playoffs. Recasner also played in Houston (1995-96) and Denver (1994-95).

After a standout collegiate career at the University of Washington where he averaged 14.5 points per game, Recasner played overseas in Germany and Turkey as well as in the U.S. minor leagues before establishing himself in the NBA. He spent three seasons (1992-93 through 1994-95) playing with the Continental Basketball Association’s Yakima Sun Kings. In his final season in Yakima, he averaged 20.4 points, earned the league’s MVP award and led his team to the CBA Championship. The head coach of that 1994-95 Yakima team was current Clippers assistant coach Mo McHone.
