Overton

To prepare for a late playoff run, Clippers have placed guard Keyon Dooling on the injured list with a sore left ankle and signed veteran guard Doug Overton to a 10-day contract.

Dooling originally suffered a high left ankle sprain in a November 14 game with Chicago. He missed 43 games before returning to the active roster on February 14. Since his return, he has played just 46 minutes and has not played at all since February 23.

Overton, a 6’3” guard out of LaSalle (’91), is a veteran of nine NBA seasons. He owns career averages of 4.7 points and 2.1 assists over 420 NBA games. Most recently, he was playing in Spain for FC Barcelona. He also appeared in 16 games this season with the Kansas City Knights of ABA2000. He saw action in 21 NBA games last season, splitting time with Boston, Charlotte and New Jersey. Overton will be in uniform on Wednesday night when the Clippers open a four-game road trip in Milwaukee.
