SAN FRANCISCO - Forward Chris Douglas-Roberts returned to practice Monday and should be available Tuesday when the Clippers face the Warriors.
Head coach Doc Rivers said that Douglas-Roberts, who missed Saturday's game against the Nuggets in Las Vegas with an ankle injury, will play Tuesday.
While Glen Davis (groin) and Jordan Farmar (back) are still dealing with injuries, the Clippers are getting healthier at the right time at the small forward spot. Matt Barnes took a fall in Saturday's game against the Nuggets, but he was at practice and isn’t concerned about the pain in his side lasting long.
"I had a sore hip from the first game, and I just hit it again," Barnes said. "It's something that'll go away."
Douglas-Roberts and Barnes are two of the four players, along with Reggie Bullock and Joe Ingles, to start a game at the small forward spot already this preseason. Douglas-Roberts was coming off his best game of the preseason Friday, with 10 points in 23 minutes, before the ankle injury kept him out Saturday.
Rivers decided to go with Ingles against the Nuggets, leaving Barnes in a reserve role. Barnes said there's not much of a difference starting or coming off the bench, as he did Saturday.
Barnes continues to talk with Rivers about the best way of going about the position, and he believes the Clippers will have the right lineups figured out before the season begins.
"It's really just what's best for the team and where I fit best, whether that's bringing the energy in the first unit or being one of the main guys in the second unit," Barnes said. "I think it's something we're still working at and figuring out."
