GAME LEADERS
POSTGAME QUOTES
Opening statement... “Obviously it was two halves -- I didn’t like the first one too much but the second one was a lot more to my liking. I thought we came out and defended, but we didn’t do the things in the first half off the dribble and we didn’t do a good enough job with our bigs of making them pay with a small lineup. In the second half, we did. Our bigs punished them in the low post in that second half.”
On his decision to start Rasual Butler in the third quarter...
On the Clippers’ second half adjustments...
On the Clippers second half... “We had two very different halves tonight. The first half we were very sluggish then we stepped up our defense in the second half and made sure we pressured the ball.”
On the new players on the team...
On the Clippers' third quarter comeback... “Our goal is to make the playoffs and we have to start that in the preseason. There’s always two halves to a basketball game and that’s what coach told us at halftime and you have to make sure you have energy in both.”
On the Clippers' performance... “I felt really good tonight playing against my old teammates and we just got to keep working and building throughout this preseason. We were flat in the first half then came out strong in the second half and made sure to turn the page. We are playing to win and we are working hard but we are also working to improve our chemistry.”
On the difference in first and second half... “We had a good start but we had a terrible second half. We dropped our heads a little bit and probably got a little tired. The long road trip is taking a toll on us and our injuries played a part in the game.”
On the play of the Clippers...
On the health and state of Warriors... “I feel 100% and my ankle is well. I had a great training camp and I’m just trying to get back into it. As a team we are progressing every game, we are young and we just need to tweak a couple of things but we are going to be fine.”
On the Warriors' loss... “It felt good but it would have been a lot better if we would have won the game. I need to work on moving the ball and really just trusting my teammates. Also, getting myself going offensively and getting easy baskets.”
