GAME 2: WHAT THEY’RE SAYING

Here is a glimpse at what was being talked about after the Clippers’ shootaround prior to Game 2 on Monday:

Asked what the phrase “Playoff basketball” means to him…

Chris Paul: “It’s a little bit more intense. A lot of times the minutes go up. You’re not playing back-to-backs, everybody’s healthy. You never know why, but it’s officiated a little differently and stuff like that. You’ve just got to play. They try to let the players decide the outcome.”

Asked if the Clippers are happy with the job they did on Stephen Curry defensively…

Matt Barnes: “I think, for the most part, our game plan was pretty effective. He’s one guy you can’t sleep on no matter what. At the very end he can get hot, so I think we did a good job and that’s something we’re going to have to keep doing.”

Asked about the team’s mindset going into Game 2…

J.J. Redick: “There has to be a great sense of urgency and we have that. Any time you get down in a series that next game is of the utmost importance and I sense that with our team. I think yesterday we were a little down. I think we felt like we had squandered a game. We didn’t value it as much as I think we should’ve. I get the feeling today that we have the right mindset going into Game 2.”
