Friday Five: Blake Griffin Player of the Week (No. 4)

4. Nov. 18, 2013 vs. Nets. Plum picking. On possession in which the undermanned Nets got several looks at the basket, Griffin prevented them from scoring by helping out Matt Barnes. After rookie Mason Plumlee up-faked Barnes to free himself for a sure dunk or layup, Griffin recovers from around the free throw line and flies into not only reject Plumlee’s shot but keep the ball in play. It was one of Griffin’s nine blocked shots to start the season. It’s the second most blocks he’s had in his first 12 games of a season in his career (he had 10 in 2012-13).
