These ain’t your fathers Clippers anymore. After years of finishing in last place, the source of talk show hosts jokes, being LA’s other team - the Clippers have seized their opportunity. A moment like this just doesn’t happen every day, or even once a decade.

In order to get something great, you must part with something great. And the Clippers did. The talent the Clippers gave up was indeed impressive. Losing Eric Gordon, Chris Kaman and Al-Farouq Aminu is a major loss. But the opportunity to grab a superstar, a true superstar, is something you have to do.
Today is the culmination of a lot of hard work, patience, and a little bit of luck. Good drafting, money management, and player development have now turned the Clippers into a destination for NBA players, when years ago Clipperland so often felt like it was a place of destitution.
By no means is today the end, just the beginning. Even more hard work is required for sustained success. But the division in the river is as clear as day, the Clippers set sail and will now head into uncharted waters.
Come along for the ride.
