Lamond Murray, California
In 1994, the Clippers selected Southern California native Lamond Murray with the seventh overall pick in the NBA Draft.

A 6’7” forward out of California, Murray averaged 14.1 points, 4.4 rebounds and 31.6 minutes in 81 games played for the Clippers during his rookie season in 1994. During his five seasons in Los Angeles, Murray averaged 11.6 points and 4.2 rebounds per game. Murray’s most productive year for the Clippers was in 1997-98, when he tallied 15.4 points and 6.1 rebounds in 79 games played.

In his third season with the Clippers, Murray led the team to the 1997 Playoffs where he averaged 7.0 points, 3.7 rebounds and 21.7 minutes in three games against the Utah Jazz.

Following his fifth season with the Clippers, Murray was traded to Cleveland for guard Derek Anderson and forward Johnny Newman on 8/4/99. Murray was traded by Cleveland with a future second round draft pick to Toronto for Michael Stewart and a future first round draft pick on 8/25/02. Murray later signed as a free agent with the New Jersey Nets on 9/8/05 and with the Clippers on 10/10/06.

Lorenzen Wright, Memphis
In 1996, the Clippers selected Memphis native Lorenzen Wright with the seventh overall pick in the NBA Draft.

A 6’11” center out of Memphis, Wright averaged 7.3 points, 6.1 rebounds and 0.8 blocks in 77 games played for the Clippers during his rookie season in 1996. During his three seasons in Los Angeles, Murray averaged 7.6 points and 7.5 rebounds per game. Wright’s most productive year for the Clippers was in 1997-98, when he tallied 9.0 points, 8.8 rebounds and 1.3 blocks in 69 games played.

During the 1997 Playoffs, Wright averaged 10.3 points, 7.3 rebounds and 30.7 minutes in three games against the Utah Jazz.

Following his third season with the Clippers, Wright was traded to Atlanta in exchange for two future first-round draft picks, on 8/8/99. Wright was traded by Atlanta to the Grizzlies, along with Brevin Knight and the draft rights to Pau Gasol, in exchange for Shareef Abdur-Rahim on 6/27/01. Wright signed with the Hawks, re-joining the club after five seasons in Memphis, on 8/30/06.
