DUDLEY OUT VERSUS LAKERS

LOS ANGELES – Clippers forward Jared Dudley will not play Thursday night against the Lakers due to mid-back spasms.

Dudley suffered the injury in the second half of Tuesday’s 104-96 victory over the Phoenix Suns as he drove to the basket for a layup. He immediately left the game and did not return. He is day-to-day moving forward.

"He's doing okay," Clippers head coach Doc Rivers said. "He was moving a lot better, but he didn't do anything at shootaround. He's just moving better. Back spasms, we don't know how long [he'll be out]."

Jamal Crawford (calf) will miss his third game in a row and J.J. Redick will sit out for the 12th straight game with a bulging disc in his lower back.

The Clippers (42-20) have played just 16 games this season with their projected starting lineup of Redick, Dudley, Chris Paul, Blake Griffin and DeAndre Jordan, yet they are within a game of owning the best record in franchise history through 62 games and are within 4.5 games of first place in the Western Conference entering play on Thursday.
