DANCER DIARIES:

Hey there Clipper Nation!

Like many other California residents, I am a transplant. I was born in Portland, Oregon and grew up in Texas. Somehow in the shuffle to find the perfect college I ended up at Long Beach State. Go Beach! My Mom grew up in the Palos Verdes area and talked about California nearly every day when we were growing up. So when the time came, I knew I had to come to LA. I graduated with a BFA in dance and was a member of their nationally ranked dance team. This is now my fifth season with the Clippers.

I am also beginning my fifth year as a Kindergarten teacher. Not only is it an extremely fulfilling job, but they keep me laughing everyday and, even better, they think I am hilarious! I have been teaching, choreographing and judging dance competitions all across the country for over ten years, and I feel so blessed to combine all the things I love into my occupations.

Growing up, my grandfather always wanted me to play basketball (because of my height). He would tell me to "put away those dancing shoes and get out those basketball shoes." (I have never owned basketball shoes, by the way!) Ultimately, I did find my way to basketball and I get to dance at the same time. I think this is a satisfactory compromise. Now I get a personal front row seat to Clipper games and I have had the opportunity to represent the Clippers in Mexico, China, and Germany. What a deal!

I am especially excited to start my fifth season with the Clippers. I am so proud to be apart of the Clippers family.

See you on the court!

Here are my top five guilty pleasures:

  1. Project Runway
  2. Red bull
  3. Sprinkles Cupcakes (Dark Chocolate)
  4. People Magazine
  5. Chick Fil-A

GO CLIPPERS!
