PHOTO GALLERIES:
Hi Clipper Nation!

My name is Jessie, and this is going to be my first season dancing with the Spirit Dance Team. I am from Los Altos, CA, which is up in the Bay Area. I have been dancing since I was two years old and competing at my mom’s dance studio - Dance Academy USA, Cupertino - since I was six. I am trained in jazz, lyrical, hip hop, ballet, and tap, with my favorite styles being jazz and lyrical. From an early age, I remember looking at old pictures of my mom and the costumes she wore as an NFL and NBA cheerleader, and I was inspired to pursue a career in the dance industry. Dance is my biggest passion and I don’t know what I would do without it.

I graduated from Saint Francis High School in Mountain View, CA. I currently attend Loyola Marymount University (Go Lions!) and I am majoring in Communication Studies with a minor in Dance. I definitely love everything about living in LA… except for the traffic! Compared to Northern California’s traffic, LA is a nightmare.

During the summer, I travel with United Spirit Association (USA) teaching junior high and high school Song Team Camps. Working for USA is so rewarding, and I especially love seeing squads improve after just the one week with us. When I’m not in class, or at Clippers Spirit practice, I am either working out, hanging out with my friends, riding my bubblegum pink bike to the beach or traveling. Although I absolutely love Europe and Hawaii, my favorite place to travel is my family’s cabin in Tahoe. On my trips to Tahoe, I love to wakeboard, snow ski, and in the winters, just curl up with hot cocoa by the roaring fire.

I truly feel blessed to be apart of the NBA Clipper Spirit Dance Team. The girls are so incredibly supportive and we have an amazing Director and Assistant Director. I’m really looking forward to performing at the STAPLES Center and cheering on the Clippers!

Here are the top five things you probably don’t know about me:

  1. I’m a quarter Korean.
  2. Everyone in my immediate family has the same three initials.
  3. Every time I sneeze, I sneeze consecutively at least six times in a row.
  4. When my parent’s put me in soccer when I was five and six, all I would do is pick flowers and do cart-wheels. Every time the ball went by, I would cheer on my other teammates to get it!
  5. I have two gorgeous younger sisters who will always be my best friends!

GO CLIPS!
