The 2008-09 season marks Brad J.'s fifth as the In-Arena Announcer for the Los Angeles Clippers.
"I consider myself pretty lucky to hang out with the greatest fans and team in the NBA," Brad J. said. "Workin for The Clippers is great and I look forward to every tip-off. Making it to the Western Conference Semifinals last year was awesome, but now it's time to hoist a Clippers championship banner up in the rafters of STAPLES Center for the 2007-08 season!"
Brad J. started playing basketball on the playground when he was only six years old. Much to his dismay, he learned pretty quickly that his skills lied off the court. Following a 20-point (total) as the second-string power forward for his youth league team, Brad J. decided it was time to hang up his Chuck Taylors and start focusing on what would become his true passion in life: radio broadcasting.
After high school, Brad J. attended Santa Barbara City College where he majored in Communications. In 1995, Brad J. got his first "real job" on-air as the morning DJ for an FM rock station. Brad has been a DJ now for 12 years and currently hosts the evening show and surf reports at KTYD 99.9 FM, a Classic Rock station in Santa Barbara when he's not working at Clippers games.
Brad J.'s resume also includes five years working as the In-game Music Director for the Los Angeles Dodgers and the Announcer at the X-Games for seven years. He has also worked for two different Olympic events: he was the Lead Music Director at the 2002 Winter Games in Salt Lake City, UT and the Music Director for the 2004 Summer Games in Athens, Greece. This year, Brad J. will be the Announcer at The World Championships of Freestyle Skiing in Deer Valley, UT as well as a High School Basketball Tournament in Seattle, WA.
Brad J. was born in Glendale, CA. Brad, his wife Tara and their three kids Damiana, Coriander and Brad J. Jr. currently reside in Ventura.
