Clippers Celebrate Fitness and Nutrition through the Clippers FIT Program
January 28, 2011

The Los Angeles Clippers celebrated fitness and healthy nutrition on Friday, January 28, 3011 with the Clippers FIT Minutes Challenge winning school – Blessed Sacrament School. Blessed Sacrament School tracked over 645,750 minutes of physical activity.

Clippers player Ike Diogu with Assistant Coach Robert Pack led winning students through an interactive clinic focused on basketball and fitness. Each child in attendance received books and Clippers items as part of the Clippers Read to Achieve and Clippers FIT programs.

The Los Angeles Clippers challenge students in elementary and middle school to charge their way to a healthier lifestyle through exercise and nutrition. Participating students are asked to track the number of minutes they spend doing physical activity each day. The physical activity can be anything including: walking, running, playing sports, and/or anything that requires a student to get up and move. The Los Angeles Clippers’ goal is that participating students will record a minimum of 30 minutes of physical activity per day. A moderate amount of physical activity added into a child’s daily routine can have significant health benefits.
