The Clippers Foundation Surprise Families This Holiday Season

On Sunday, December 14, 2008, Clippers Players, The Salvation Army Seimon Family Youth and Community Center, grocery chains Ralphs and Food 4 Less and the Clippers Foundation celebrate the Holiday Season by providing families with holiday gifts, food and much more.

Families share in a reading timeout while Clippers Players Marcus Camby, Mardy Collins, Baron Davis, Ricky Davis, Jason Hart and Steve Novak read holiday books to children and then participated in a gift distribution. Each child received special presents, a Read to Achieve Backpack filled with supplies, books and other goodies.

The Los Angeles Clippers Foundation exists to foster and support community outreach programs and activities with positive educational, civic, environmental and humanitarian values that benefit and enhance the quality of life primarily for children in greater Los Angeles.

Family selection was based on need reflecting monthly income, school age children living in the home, rent limitations and employment status. This event is a surprise for our selected families maintaining special attention to the sensitive nature of their circumstances.
