Clippers Season of Giving
The Los Angeles Clippers have been busy this holiday season surprising children in Southern California with gifts to make this holiday season a little extra special.
On Friday, December 10, 2010, the Los Angeles Clippers Players, The Salvation Army Siemon Family Youth and Community Center and the Los Angeles Clippers Foundation celebrated the Holiday Season by providing 25 families with holiday gifts, food and much more.
The families shared in one-on-one time with Clippers players: Baron Davis, Blake Griffin, DeAndre Jordan and Randy Foye. Children gathered around the tree to participate in a reading timeout with the players reading Are You Grumpy Santa. After the reading timeout, every member of the family received special presents, books courtesy of the Read to Achieve program and other goodies.
To conclude the event, Clippers players gathered the parents to announce that they were providing assistance with January’s rent and gift cards for food, clothing and necessities.
On Monday, December 13, 2010, the Los Angeles Clippers Foundation in a joint effort with Feed The Children, Rancho Cienega Sports Complex and the Salvation Army Siemon Family Youth and Community Center provided 2,400 families in Los Angeles with food and every day essentials.
Clippers players Eric Bledsoe, Brian Cook, Ryan Gomes, Eric Gordon, Craig Smith and Willie Warren; Clippers staff and season ticket holders handed out food boxes and personal care boxes in hopes of making a difference in the lives of children and families in Los Angeles where hunger and need are daily realities. Families also received books and toys.
On Tuesday, December 21, 2010 Los Angeles Clippers player Baron Davis gave back to his community this holiday season by providing over 500 students at Southpark Elementary School with gifts. Baron wanted to give back to a school in the community where he grew up and wanted to give back to the children in his community.
Jarron Collins Children’s Hospital Visit
Also on Tuesday, December 21, 2010 Los Angeles Clippers player Jarron Collins spread holiday cheer to the outpatients at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles. Jarron greeted the children in the outpatient and orthopedic centers while distributing holiday present and Clippers gear.
Rasual Butler Bike Giveaway
To wrap up the Los Angeles Clippers Season of Giving, Los Angeles Clippers player Rasual Butler gave out 10 bikes during the Clippers vs. Houston game on Wednesday, December 22, 2010. Ten lucky young fans were surprised with a bike at center court during halftime.
