The Boston Celtics complete their four-game home stand tonight when they host the Orlando Magic, and it will be a match-up of Clifford Ray's star pupils as Dwight Howard and Al Jefferson go head-to-head in the paint.
The Celtics are looking for their second straight win after knocking off the Atlantic Division-leading Raptors at the Garden Monday night. Jefferson (22 points) and Paul Pierce led the way against Toronto, while Rajon Rondo was busy setting the table by handing out eight assists.
All eyes will be on Jefferson and Howard, both of whom entered the NBA directly from high school in 2004. While Howard made an immediate impact when he entered the league,, Jefferson has overcome a lost season of ankle injuries last year to finally emerge as one of the top power forwards in the Eastern Conference alongside Howard.
The Magic lead the season series 2-0, most recently downing the Celtics in Orlando on January 7. The teams will get together one more time in the final days of the season in Orlando to complete the four-game series.
