The Boston Celtics tip off a three-game road trip Friday night in Dallas, as they match up with MVP candidate Dirk Nowitzki and the Mavericks, who at 52-11 currently rank as the best team in the league.

The C's have won six of their last 10 games coming into tonight's action, and they'll be looking for their second straight win after knocking off the Atlanta Hawks Wednesday night, 109-88. Rajon Rondo set the pace for the Celtics at the point guard spot, scoring 13 points and handing out 10 of the team's 27 assists as the team shot 50% from the field.

The Mavs are coming off a 129-127 double-overtime loss to the Suns on Wednesday that some observers called the best NBA game of the season. For the Mavs, it was their second straight loss after running off 17 wins in a row, a streak that was snapped by the Golden State Warriors on Monday night.

Nowitzki is having an impressive season, averaging 25.1 PPG and shooting a shade under 50% from the field. And he's setting up teammates more this season than ever before, averaging a career-best 3.5 assists per game.
