Gilbert Arenas brings his show on the road to Boston this evening as the Celtics host the Washington Wizards.
The Celtics lost a tough one in Toronto Friday night, as a six-minute-plus scoring drought in the fourth quarter sealed their fate and allowed the Raptors to edge them 96-90. The Celtics played without Wally Szczerbiak, who's still day-to-day with sprains in both ankles, and he's questionable for tonight's contest as well.
The good news on the injury front is that Al Jefferson showed no ill effects from tweaking his right ankle in Wednesday night's game, and dropped 20 points and 10 rebounds on the Raptors in the loss. The C's also got a lift from rookie Allan Ray, who's averaging 19.7 PPG in his last three road games after scoring 17 points Friday.
The 25-17 Wizards have the best record in the Eastern Conference thanks in large part to their impressive 17-4 mark at home, but on the road Washington sits at just 8-13.
Arenas, the NBA's second-leading scorer at 29.6 PPG, is averaging 33 PPG in two outings vs. the Celtics this year; he scored 22 in the January 20 contest and had 44 points in the November game in Washington.
