Al Jefferson is a 6-9, 250-pound high school senior from Prentiss Mississippi. Jefferson originally signed to play at Arkansas, but has left his NBA options open. The power forward scored 16 points and pulled down a game-high 11 boards in the annual McDonald’s All-American Game. Jefferson, who averaged 42.6 points and 18.0 boards as a senior, is known for his rebounding and bruising inside game. Check out what Jefferson had to say after his workout for the Celtics.
Celtics.com: How did your workout go?

Al Jefferson: It went OK.

Celtics.com: Was this your first NBA workout?

Jefferson: Yeah.

Celtics.com: Was it what you expected?

Jefferson: A little harder, ya know. I’m not used to anything like this, but it was a great experience.

Celtics.com: Do you feel you’re prepared to make the jump from high school to the NBA?

Jefferson: I mean, right now I’m not prepared but I feel like it’s all about hard work.

Celtics.com: Have you decided if you’re definitely staying in the draft?

Jefferson: I’m just waiting to see. I don’t have an agent yet.

Celtics.com: What is going to be the main deciding factor?

Jefferson: It probably depends on where I’m going to go in the first round.
