Celtics Activate Al Jefferson

BOSTON, MA (February, 16, 2005) - The Boston Celtics announced today that they have activated forward Al Jefferson from the Injured List. In a related move the Celtics have place forward Justin Reed on the Injured List with right infrapetella tendinitis.

Jefferson, the 15th overall selection in the 2004 NBA Draft was placed on the Injured List January 28, with a sprained right ankle. The 6-10 forward is averaging 7.0 points, 4.8 boards and 1.0 block in 16.0 minutes per game. Jefferson ranks 3rd among rookies in field goal percentage, 5th in blocks and 7th in rebounds per game. He notched his 3rd career double-double with a career-high 17 points to go with 10 boards vs. Chicago on January 19.

Reed, the 40th overall selection in the 2004 NBA Draft was activated from the Injured List February 8. The 6-8 forward is averaging 1.9 points in 3.4 minutes per game. He scored a career-high 13 points at Milwaukee on February 8.
