Lottery Presents $1 Million Check to Boston Celtics Green Winner

BOSTON, MA - David Maroney of Weymouth - the second lucky $1 million winner in the Massachusetts State Lottery's Boston Celtics Green instant game - was last night presented with a check representing his grand prize during halftime of the Celtics game.

Maroney was joined at center court by his wife Jane and son Andrew, as Massachusetts Lottery Executive Director Mark Cavanagh, Boston Celtics COO Rich Gotham and Celtics Legend JoJo White presented him with a $1 million check.

Maroney claimed his prize on January 8 at the Lottery's Braintree headquarters, and will receive annual prize payments of $50,000 (minus taxes) for 20 years. He purchased the $5.00 Boston Celtics Green ticket at Pleasant Market located at 1305 Pleasant Street in Weymouth, MA. The store will receive a $10,000 commission on the sale.

There are still three $1 million prizes, as well as millions in other cash and merchandise prizes, waiting to be won with Boston Celtics Green.

Boston Celtics Green debuted at Lottery retailers throughout Massachusetts on October 31, 2006. This exciting $5 instant game offers over $57.5 million in cash, merchandise and unmatchable experiential prizes.

Five lucky winners will have the opportunity to each win a pair of Celtics season tickets through the game's bonus drawing feature. Other prizes include game tickets, and courtside seats, as well as team-related merchandise.
