"This is our final concert in a series of three this season and with Chris Brown's talent, enthusiasm and fan base, it is sure to be a memorable one," said Celtics Executive Vice President Rich Gotham. "We are pleased to offer our fans the exciting combination of Boston Celtics basketball versus a high quality opponent and a special post game concert performed by one of the country's hottest artists, Chris Brown."
This special concert event supports Brown's self-titled debut album which achieved gold status in less than a month and topped Billboard's Top 200. His number one single "Run It" went straight to the top of Billboard's singles chart, making Brown the first male solo artist to accomplish such a feat. His second single "Yo (Excuse Me Miss)" has been steadily rising up the charts since its debut.
Born and raised in small town Tappahannock, VA, Brown developed a passion for music by listening to favorites of his parents: Michael Jackson, Sam Cooke, Stevie Wonder, Donnie Hathaway, Anita Baker and Aretha Franklin. He began showcasing his talents at age 13 and the rest is history. The teenage phenom was catapulted into stardom with "Run It" and is already being compared to R&B legend Usher. He has certainly channeled creativity from R&B artists that came before him but one listen to his album shows he has a style, flavor and place in music that are all his own.
