Brandon Bass blocked Dion Waiters' potential game-tying layup with nine seconds left in Saturday's matchup against the Cavaliers and the Celtics held on for a 103-100 victory at TD Garden. The C's withstood a late-game barrage by Kyrie Irving and Waiters, who scored 21 of Cleveland's 34 points in the quarter.
Jeff Green and Jordan Crawford scored 19 apiece to pace the C's in the win. Green also tied Avery Bradley for a team-high with eight rebounds, while Bradley also added 18 points. Bass finished with 15 points, six rebounds, four assists and that crucial block.
