With Rajon Rondo sidelined due to an NBA suspension, and Doc Rivers telling his team that opponents thought they were "soft," the Celtics responded Friday with a blowout victory on their home court, defeating the Portland Trail Blazers, 96-78.

Jeff Green came alive in a reserve role, scoring 19 points, while Jason Terry added 17 of his own. Paul Pierce also played an impressive floor game; the captain dropped 12 points, grabbed eight rebounds and handed out five assists.
