CommUNITY Crew Kicks Off Initiative
The Celtics CommUNITY Crew, in partnership with Arbella Insurance and City Year, spent an entire day transforming the Mattahunt Elementary School in Mattapan. The Celtics CommUNITY crew consisted of a group of volunteers including; Boston Celtics Co-owner Stephen Pagliuca, Senator Scott Brown, Governor Deval Patrick, Boston Celtics President of Basketball Operations Danny Ainge, Boston Celtics Legend Dana Barros, Boston Celtics Team President Rich Gotham, Boston Celtics Play by Play Announcer Sean Grande, Boston Police Commissioner Ed Davis, the entire Celtics staff, season ticket holders and team partners. The volunteers spent the day making over the school and community center grounds to provide a fun and safe learning environment for students.
The Celtics CommUNITY Crew is a new community based program run by the team and the Boston Celtics Shamrock Foundation. The Celtics CommUNITY Crew will volunteer at many different community projects throughout the year and will consist of members of the entire Celtics organization, coaching staff, corporate partners and season ticket holders.
