Late Surge Not Enough as C's Begin Road Trip with Loss in Toronto
The Celtics were unable to overcome a tough shooting night, falling to the Raptors 84-79 Friday night in Toronto. Paul Pierce led the way for the C's with 18 points but was outshined by DeMar DeRozan, who scored a game-high 22 points for Toronto. DeRozan did most of his damage from the free-throw line, where he shot 13-for-13 on the night.
Rajon Rondo piled up 12 assists to move his 10-plus assists streak to 20 straight games. Avery Bradley also chipped in 15 points and six boards.
