2014 Harvard Pilgrim Health Care Luncheon
The Boston Celtics Celebration of Champions Luncheon, presented by Harvard Pilgrim Health Care, was held on Feb. 7, at the Seaport World Trade Center in Boston.
Harvard Pilgrim Health Care has been the Official Health Care Provider of the Boston Celtics since 2003, making this the 11th annual luncheon. With continuous demonstrations of being exceptional partners over the years, both organizations have a lot to celebrate when collaborating for an event.
The afternoon began with lunch being served at the onset of an eventful agenda. Guests included Celtics ownership, HPHC and Celtics executives, appreciated corporate partners and valued season ticket holders. Following lunch, prestigious members of the 1964, 1974, and 1984 World Championship Celtics teams took the stage to take part in a panel discussion. Hosting the panel was sportswriter and NBA columnist, Jackie MacMullan.
In attendance from all three Boston Celtics championship teams were Tommy Heinsohn (1964), JoJo White (1974), Steve Kuberski (1974), Paul Silas (1974), Cedric Maxwell (1984) and Gerald Henderson (1984). While looking back on a successful three decades for the Celtics organization, some of the past teammates reflected on team records, generations of past coaching staffs, and team championship anniversaries.
Celtics team president Rich Gotham spoke on behalf of the Celtics organization, wishing the former players a “Happy Anniversary” for each championship year being celebrated. This year marks the 50th anniversary for the 1964 team, the 40th anniversary for the 1974 team, and the 30th anniversary for the 1964 team. Gotham, along with Boston Celtics managing partner, co-owner and president of the Boston Celtics Shamrock Foundation, Steve Pagliuca, also gave thanks to Harvard Pilgrim Health Care for their continued support throughout the years and for being such an outstanding partner.
The Annual Harvard Pilgrim Health Care Luncheon is an event that both organizations continuously look forward to in order to take a moment to celebrate a successful partnership.
